Record a reading
On a traditional eThekwini meter, read the black-and-white digits from left to right. They show kilolitres (kL). Leave out the red-and-white digits.
Before taking a photo: include the meter number as well as the reading. Check that it is your meter. We don't check what the photo shows.
This is usage between the stated dates, not necessarily a calendar month's billed consumption. An unusual average is a reason to check the readings and water use; it doesn't diagnose a leak.
0 of 120 readings saved. Up to 48 MiB of original photos per diary.

Your photos and reading history are your own record. They don't confirm what the municipality has accepted. Keep the municipality's submission reference.
Dates, meter identity and readings are entered by you. Photos are not visually checked or certified. Usage covers each stated interval.

Compare a bill (optional)
Enter the meter reading dates printed on the bill, rather than the statement issue date. Actual means a read value; Estimated is an estimate. Choose Not stated if unclear.
Saved bill comparisons
No bill worksheets saved.
A later actual reading may reconcile earlier estimates. Consumption price steps and separate charges need their own explanation from the municipality. This worksheet doesn't calculate a rand bill or decide whether a charge is lawful.
